Dr.Zoltan Szantoi

Land Application Scientist at EO-Africa-ESA

Zoltan is a Land Application Scientist at the European Space Agency, and a research fellow at Stellenbosch University’s Department of Geography & Environmental Studies. He received his Ph.D. degree in Geomatics from the University of Florida (USA).

He has experience in geospatial big data processing, advance image classification techniques, image texture analysis and land cover and use mapping and monitoring with particular attention on agriculture and food security.

In his research, he investigates environmental issues important to society, by employing state-of-the-art machine learning approaches in geospatial applications.
